Finishing the Unfinished

Monday, 29 December 2014

Delay is not a help-mate. The cemetary is full of people who thought they could DO IT tomorrow. Do It Now!― Israelmore Ayivor

I always tend to delay my works especially my university works but for this moment, I am eager to finish one of my unfinished business, sending mails and postcards to my friends. I have been delayed this 'work' since November. So, finally... today I had decided, no matter what, I will finish them all.

Tips of My Day

Sunday, 28 December 2014

I have been working as a part-time waitress in one of restaurant near my university for 5 months. I honestly think that working with human is the most difficult thing, they obviously have brains but sometimes their acts show otherwise. Sometimes, they make my day brighter but sometimes they make my whole day disaster. As you can see above, the coins are actually the tips that I got when I worked and hopefully I will earn more. Thank you my dear customers and keep giving me more tips!!!

How Healthy Are You?

Thursday, 2 October 2014

Yesterday, October 1st, I went to "PRPI" exhibition in my university, "Pameran Rekacipta, Penyelidikan dan Inovasi" or in English "Invention, Research and Innovation Exhibition". Honestly, I kinda loss of interest looking at each exhibition booth, nothing really caught my eyes. At the same time, I noticed there was a booth for checking our health status. Since, there were not so many people, I just fill up the form and wait for my turn. It took less than 10 minutes. It just a normal health check-up. So, as you can see, below are my result.

[REVIEW] Mini Zoo Kemaman, Terengganu

Tuesday, 30 September 2014

Once again, on August 29, me and my sister went back to our hometown  as we celebrating our Independence Day or "Merdeka" in Malay on August 31 [I knew it was 1 month ago but better late than never]. We took 5 days off. As usual we took an alternative road from Kuantan, Pahang to Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu(my hometown). The road was far from hustle and bustle which is good for us. Along this alternative road, we always  noticed there is a Mini Zoo's signboard. We actually passed this mini zoo everytime we went back to our hometown but got zero desire to stop by until that day.

Oh! My Chicken

Sunday, 7 September 2014

My niece, Adriana or "Kakak" means sister in Malay really love animals. I think it might be because she lives with animals in her surroundings since she was a baby; cats, goats, cows, rabbits, pony, chicken and etc. Last time, when I went back to my hometown, while checking the backyard, I was shocked when I noticed these 2 little chickens.

The Creative Adult Is A Child Who Survived

Monday, 25 August 2014

"The Creative Adult Is A Child Who Survived"

Whenever I heard this quote, it always make me think about it will be such a good thing if I can stay as child forever. Living in my own imagination without any discretion but I am sure it is 100% impossible. Literally, be a grown adult had pushed me away from doing something that I really wanna do.

OLAY Malaysia: Steps To Flawless Looking Skin

Wednesday, 20 August 2014
Every woman dream is to have beautiful looking skin from head-to-toe and finding the perfect beauty products might be overwhelming to some. There are a lot of beauty products in the market these days offering women and also men the solution to their skin problem. One of the products which women should consider on trying is from Olay Malaysia. Founded in 1949, Olay is a brand started in South Africa by a former Unilever scientist, Graham Wulff. The brand soon had become a hit with the various beauty product range offered to women for all skin types. Women can find a wide range of products from Olay ranging from facial cleanser, moisturizer, night creams, face mask, anti-aging creams and more. However, some women are a little clueless on the necessary steps needed to be followed in order to achieve a radiant looking skin.

Through My Window: The Last Farewell

Monday, 18 August 2014
Aug 17, 7:09PM

After failing to catch Mr. Sunset in my previous post, finally yesterday I got him red handed. Just like this simple quote, cherish every moment you have in you life.

Cherish the moment of togetherness, because the sun will fall beneath the ocean, creating a sunset, and the moment might be gone too soon.

Through My Window: The Morning Call, The Rainy Afternoon and The Missing Sunset

Thursday, 14 August 2014
[Aug 14th, 2014]

Since yesterday, I haven't sleep at all, trying to finish the unnecessary things rather than focusing on my other important matters. Then, while looking at the outside, I grabbed my camera and tried to catch the morning master, Mr. Sun. Well, I guess Mr. Sun is quiet shy today. Can't see his glimpse at all.

[Projek Raya] The Final Touch

Remember in my previous post about my progress on "Projek Raya" where me and my friends had decided to exchange cards either homemade or ready-made. So, Eid had passed and I also had received cards from them. I hope they also receive mine. As you can see above, that were my artworks. :) I just use recycle cardboard and leftover white papers and LUNA watercolor pencil that I got from emilayusof as a giveaway. These artworks might not be perfect but I am satisfied with my efforts. :)

Old Stamps Inside a Pouch

Monday, 11 August 2014

Remember when I told you that I was celebrating Eid in my hometown, Kuala Terengganu, I accidentally found the small pouch that contained lot of stamps. I remember I collected all these stamps when I was young but I didn't remember at all that I kept them inside this pouch. When I was young(elementery school), I always told everyone that my hobby is collecting stamps but during that time, I didn't have any stamp album, so I will either kept them in a small box or a pouch.

[Balik Kampung] The Breathtaking Scenery

Tuesday, 5 August 2014
I've been living in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor(the city next to Kuala Lumpur) for 7 years. So, when there's national holidays like Hari Raya(Eid), Chinese New Year, Deepavali(Indian's festival) and etc, me and my sister will going back home(Balik Kampung) together by car to our hometown(Kuala Terengganu). It takes 6-7 hours by car, approximately 8 hours by bus and 45 minutes by airplane. I love taking photo but not professionally as a photographer. Along  the journey, we passed beautiful landscapes, so I just want to share some of it with you guys.

The first 4 pictures are taken on our way to our hometown. I missed to take photos of the beach that passed through. Maybe next time, I will post it.

**Some of the photos have a reflection because I forgot to remove the things on the dashboard[I took the photos while I was inside the car]

[Hari Raya] Car Caught on Fire on Way Back to Kuala Lumpur

Saturday, 2 August 2014
On July 31, when me and my sister on our way back to Kuala Lumpur from Kuala Terengganu after celebrating Raya in our hometown, we saw a car was caught on fire. Luckily less cars using this highway (Lebuh Raya Pantai Timur Fasa 2 / LPT2), so the traffic is okay. I think, no casualties. I just take some photos and videos, scroll for details:

Postcrossing: Stamps Collection(Germany Edition Part2)

Friday, 1 August 2014
Here we go, part 2 of stamps collection from Germany :). If you haven't check Part 1, feel free to check them >here<. After receiving lot of postcards/letters from Germany, I easily can recognized right away the postcards are from Germany when I took them out from my mailbox because of the stamps. In Bahasa Melayu(Malay Language), Germany is written as Jerman and to my fellow Germany readers, CONGRATULATIONS for winning the World Cup 2014.

From Kerstin(DE-3121489)

Postcrossing: Stamps Collection(France Edition Part1)

Yeay, finally my collection of postcard from France reached 5. It means I can share the stamps from this so-called romantic country with my fellow readers. In Bahasa Melayu(Malay Language), we called France as "Perancis". As for the cost for sending postcard from France to other countries, I seriously do not know. Some stamps has "20g" written on it, was it 20g is 20 gram or does it means something else? I knew that the currency use in France is Euro. So, anyone please help me!!

The first postcard I received from Jean-Michael didn't has a common stamp on it, does the yellow sticker is considered as stamp? I'm not really sure. Does anyone know?

Postcrossing: Stamps Collection(Belarus Edition Part1)

Hello August!!! I hope this month will be better for me. ><

So, as most of you knew, I was on holiday in my hometown,Terengganu for celebrating Happy Eid. Opening post for this month, I will share my collection of stamps that I received from Belarus. I'm not very sure how much it cost to send a postcard from Belarus to other countries, all I knew the currency is Belarusian Ruble(BYR). The stamps only have alphabets of M, N and H, only 1 postcard has number on it. Anyone knows about it? Feel free to share your knowledge in comment section.

Thank You Mr. Pail

Saturday, 19 July 2014

Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot.
Hansa Proverb

This pail has been beside me since 2007 when I was a sophomore in my university. I still remember bringing it to my "Under Construction" camp, a camp where a sophomore will be declared as the members of "Industrial Design" department and the "Black Grinder" written on it was our team name. Eventhough, during that camp, I never use you.

I remembered using it to wash my clothes, to keep water when our university water supply was breaking down. I remember using this pail to wash my motorcycle. I remember using this pail to mop the floor. I remember everything.

... and today, it is a time to let you go... Thank you Mr. Pail for being with me for 7 years.

Postcrossing: Stamps Collection(Russia Edition Part1)

Saturday, 12 July 2014
Russia, a largest country in the world. Lot of my high school friends back in 2005 were sent to this country under scholarships to study medical. I really envy them during that time. Forget about that...>=<...

Based on the stamps that I had, I love the one that showed the architectures [Mockobckar and etc(I don't know how to write the others)]. I'm not really sure about the postage rate but their currency is called Russian Ruble, honestly it is my first time to hear it. The most interesting thing about receiving postcard from Russia is; there will be lot of stamps pasted on the cards :) Just look at my collection below; and thank you my fellow Russian postcrosser!!

Right now, it's 5 in the morning in Malaysia. While watching world cup match between Netherlands and Argentina, I decided to start making my homemade cards for "Projek Raya". Too messy, too sleepy and so lazy to finish it all. Hope a cup of coffee will energize my brain and hopefully Netherlands will win the match, currently the match is in 2nd half time and the score still 0-0.

Update: Argentina won... :(
I'm hoping I can see Tim Krul save some penalties but hell yeah Holland had used all 3 substitutes... see you next 4 years!!

Through My Windows: I am in a Haze

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Nowadays, weather is constantly changing. If you read my previous post "Through My Windows: El-Nino is Coming", you can see the football field was parched. Today, when I take a look from my windows,  I can see the haze is slowly covering the surrounding. This is totally not good for our health.

Like a Superman not a Samurai

Sunday, 22 June 2014

So, yesterday I rode my motorcycle from my university to my sister's house. It took less than 45 minutes. Unfortunately, just a few kilometres left, my motorcycle accidentally slide to the right and bamm.. I fell like a superman. Luckily, nothing serious happened. I only hurt my knee and chin. The shirt above was the one that I wore yesterday, it says Samurai in Japanese.. I wished I fell like a Samurai not a Superman. Anyway, be careful guys. Don't ever try to be a Superman when you are on the road.

Postcrossing: Stamps Collection(Taiwan Edition Part1)

At first, I was mistaken stamps from Taiwan are from China because on these stamps it written the word "Republic of China". Then, when I was re-checking the list, I noticed that I had make a mistake. For China, It supposed to be "People's Republic of China" right?. I read some info on "wikipedia" :)

So according to the stamps on the postcard, I think the rate for sending postcard from Taiwan to other countries is 10 cents. Am I right my Taiwanese friends?

Projek Raya 2014 feat Worldwide Giveaways [June-July]

Saturday, 21 June 2014

Hari Raya Aidilfitri, is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world. Hari Raya literally means ‘celebration day’, and Hari Raya Aidilfitri is the day that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of dawn-to-sunset fasting.

Hari Raya is one of the biggest holidays in Malaysia, and many Muslims (and even non-Muslims) return to their family home (balik kampung) driving or flying home for a couple of days before the day to be with their families and loved ones.

During Hari Raya Aidilfitri, families and friends seeking forgiveness from each other, visiting ancestors’ graves, saying prayers at the mosque and visiting relatives and friends and not to forget get a taste of traditional Malay foods like ketupat, rendang, satay, lemang and curry. In Malaysia, children are given token sums of money from their parents or elders.

Through My Windows: El-Nino is Coming

Friday, 20 June 2014

I think most of 4 season countries are having summer right now. Am I right? My country, Malaysia is a Tropical Country. The humidity is usually high here. Right now, we are facing El-Nino phenomenon. This phenomenon refers to the prolonged warming of surface temperatures over the eastern Pacific Ocean for six months every two to seven years.

Thank You NESTUM

Last month, if I remembered clearly, I stumbled Nuffnang ads about NESTUM, so I randomly click and read about their products. They are offering the sample to those who were interested to try it. I filled up all my details(name, phone number and address) and that's all. Then on June 09, I got a call from NESTUM's staff confirming my name and asking me whether I was requesting for the sample or not. After all the confirmation, he once again confirming my delivery address and telling me that the sample will be arrived in 7 days.

Travelog: Reminiscing Hiroshima

Wednesday, 4 June 2014

It has been a year since I left Hiroshima, looking at all the photos in my hard disk reminisced me about the peaceful atmosphere that I ever had here. Unfortunately, during that time, I wasn't an active blogger yet, even updating status or uploading photos on facebook was not my style. My friends kept telling to upload all the photos, but I guess I just be myself, lazy girl. Then, until today, I just feel like wanna share some pictures from this beautiful place, Hiroshima. As most of you remember, the atomic bomb was dropped here during WWII by United States Army Air Forces(USAAF) led by Enola Gay.

Collectible: Coins Collection(Japan-Indonesia-China-Thailand)

Thursday, 22 May 2014
my 2012-2013 collection

Since I was little(around 7 years old), I've been collecting lot of collectible items such as stamps, coins(Malaysia 1 cent coins; no longer used nowadays), prepaid top-up cards, keychains and etc. I do not have a special storage for these items, I just put them in a small box and keep them safely inside the cabinet. Basically, I love keeping the Malaysian 1 cent coins because of the bronze color. For some people, they think it doesn't have value and they don't wanna keep them inside their purse/wallet(when it was still been used). I don't have much foreign coins excepts those that I got from friends or I just randomly found them.

Starting from 2012 until 2013, I went to Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, this became my turning point when my hobbies of collecting items blossom again. Yeay!!

Couchsurfing: The Hotspot for Travellers

Virtual Friends Real Happiness

There is no doubt that internet is a medium that connecting people all over the world but as we can see, not all the things on internet will turn good. Personally, I think it depends on how you use and control it. Internet has been my virtual platform to express my opinion, collecting the information and also making lot of friends without judging their visual appearances.

Last year, I accidentally  visited emilayusof.com for buying some postcards for my Japanese coordinator, host family and facilitators, unnoticed  it had turned myself to be one of the regular(addicted) visitors.  There, I virtually chatting with other visitors. Some of them always keep me smiling with their words and also with their letters full of happiness. We exchanging our home address and sending each other some collectible items especially postcards. :)

Travelog: A Large Buddha Statue in HatYai

Wednesday, 7 May 2014
one of the big statue in HatYai

At first, when we encountered this temple, I was afraid to go in because we might disturbing the area or maybe we might accidentally do something forbidden inside that temple. Different to my friend, she keeps saying, "that's okay, we didn't do anything wrong, we will just take some photos", but still I feel unsecure. Then, fortunately we saw a van arrived and parking inside the temple. So, we asked him whether we can go inside and take some photos. He told us, he is not an employee, he's just a visitor and he asked us to ask people inside. So, we decided to find someone and luckily we found a group of monks sitting on the benches near the main entrance. We asked for the permission and they said, we can take photos as much as we want. :)

Pos Malaysia: The frustration that cannot be uttered by words

Monday, 5 May 2014
At their website, it written that "Pos Malaysia’s 5 Business Clusters, aimed to provide quality, reliable, timely and innovative solutions to our customers"

I am not sure whether some of you ever experience the frustration when dealing with post office in your respective country. Honestly, I am too lazy to write about this topic but I can't hold the frustration anymore. Sending and receiving mails are something that make me excited and happy at the same time but what happened when the mails were "missing in action", lost, took more than 3 months to receive(for domestic mails only), missing items and etc? Won't you feel angry at all?

That's what happened to me lately. Since, I participating Postcrossing, almost every week I will go to post office to send my mails and almost every month I will receive mails either from local or overseas. The frustration started when;

The book "Paper Crane Journey" in English and a remake by Fauzia from Pakistan

During WWI until WWII, Hiroshima was the focal point of military activities but everything change after the atomic bomb was dropped by the U.S army in 1945 which caused major destruction. Many local residents died and the rest of them suffering from the effect of the radiation.

If you travel, study or live in Hiroshima, you will be told about this story over and over again but honestly I never feel bored listening to them. During my stay, I regularly went to Peace Memorial Park at least 3 times in a week. The place will be always crowded with local people, high school students and tourist.

Collectible: Chopsticks from Japan

Tuesday, 29 April 2014
These items are one of my precious collection from Japan. As you can see in the picture, It says, "Home of Traditional Japanese paper for 1000 Years". Amazing isn't? If I remember correctly, one chopstick cost ¥500=±RM19=USD6. For me, it was quite expensive but I think it is worth for my collection.

Chopstick with Kimono Girl

The shop is located in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. If you still remember the incident(tsunami) in 2011, this area also affected by the earthquake, tsunami and radiation contamination. It just only one year after the incident and I can see that the people in this area are struggling especially the farmers. I have lot of chances talking with them and all I can say is they are positively moving forward for better life.

Travel Collection: Kuala Lumpur to Surabaya-Malang, Indonesia

The fountain statue in Surabaya city (The Shark and Crocodile)
Travelling to Indonesia is one of my dreams come true. If my friend do not marry that year, I don't think I have a good reason to go there. For your information, the name of Surabaya is derived from the word "Sura" which is means Shark and "Baya" means Crocodile. It is based on the local myth.

I am really enthuasiasm in doing volunteering works. So far, I've joint lot of volunteering activities but the one that make me proud in doing so is donating my blood. The first time, I tried to donate was on 2006 but it was a fail because the tube for transferring the blood were not enough.
