Saturday, 1 June 2013

Hiroshima (広島市) is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the Chūgoku region of western Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It is best known as the first city in history to be targeted by a nuclear weapon when the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped an atomic bomb on it at 8:15 a.m. on August 6, 1945, near the end of World War II.Its name 広島 means "Wide Island".

[Kizuna] First Visit Part 1 - Tenei Mura(天栄村)

Monday, 1 April 2013
For two weeks, we spent lot of time in Tokyo and areas nearby, there were so much fun but our real aims for this program is actually started by visiting one of the disaster area in Fukushima called Tenei Village. This village is actually affected by the earthquake and the explosion of nuclear power plant.

From Tokyo we took shinkansen/bullet train to Fukushima...

Shinkansen (しんかんせん)

The place called Tenei-Mura @ Tenei Village is very beautiful place I have seen in Japan but to reach there, I felt like riding a roller coaster. This is due to the place is located almost on top of the hills, so the road is basically spinning around. It was bad for me as i feel like to vomit and I cant't really enjoy the scenes from the bus but when we reach there.. It is payable as the place was awesome.. No kidding... It is totally awesome.

For this  first part, I will just post some photos of the area, for the next part I will share what we did In Tenei Village.. so keep updating with me..

Travelog.Malaysia - Broga Hill@Bukit Broga + Halfway to Gunung Tok Wan

This is actually my second time hiking Broga Hill. The first time I did was in early 2012 with my high school friends but this time I was with my ex-classmate in my university, total of us are 4+my friend's sister. We moved from University Putra Malaysia (UPM Serdang) by car around 5.15 in the morning.

At the time we reached at Broga, it is already around 5.45 am (it is quiet late), there were already many others people due to weekend compared to weekdays.

I did bring my DSLR but as usual, I am too lazy to take photo. By the way, I did take some...
enjoy..

this is not belong to me... kudos to Izzati

A tip for muslim, for Subuh Prayer, just find any open spaces to do it. No worries because you can see there are many other people doing this. Just bring extra mineral water to take your wuduk/ablution and cloth to prevent your forehead from dirt.

when the sun rises

On the top

If i'm not mistaken, there were 3 peaks in Broga. This is the first peak.

love it. view from second peak

Another view

soooo calm

my three fellow hikers minus Izzati
At first we decided to go to Gunung Tok Wan but when we did walked around 15-20 minutes, we did heard some sounds make by an animal, probably wild boar so we decided to turned back to Broga as we were the only group that make our way to Gunung Tok Wan and we didn't really know how long it will takes for us to reach there and there is no man in our group, so that's why we took that decision.

I think we did a right decision by turning back to Broga because when I went back, I checked on internet it said that It will take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to reach Gunung Tok Wan.

[Travelog] Hiroshima Part 3 - The GSE Girls of HJU

Sunday, 24 March 2013
The GSE Girls.. I love the name, no kidding. To be honest, living in Japan is not easy if you cannot speak Japanese. From my observation, there are only a few people can speak english and even though they can speak english but some of them will avoid to do so.. Why?? asked the Japanese. In Hiroshima Jogakuin University, i did notice that it was hard for me to get communicate with the other Japanese girls, most of them will avoid to have the eye contact with me? Why? Once again, ask by yourselves.

Luckily, the are some girls that called the GSE Girls, total of them are 11. GSE is stand for Global Studies in English and of course they do speak english. That was awesome for a foreigner like me, to have Japanese friends that you can talk to. By the way, 11 are not enough, I need more Japanese girls that can speak english. I do hope that the university will set a rule that all their students need to take english class or past the english test.. something like that.. in order to prepare them globally not just locally.

some of the GSE girls with some of us..

Ok, get back to the GSE Girls, I am very thankful that they are existed in HJU. Luckily, they are the first batch for their university and the timing was great with the involvement of the Kizuna participant in HJU, by the way, 8 of us were popular known as JOCA's student as JOCA is one of the organizer for this exchange program.

So, the girls are:

From my point of view, starting from:

1. Mayu:
I can see her as a very good leader. Nice and brave enough to give her opinion. She can speak english confidently but need more expose with the english speakers

2. Mizuki
To be honest, I spend less with Mizuki. We are not really talking too much with each other and she seems like she was trying to avoid me. maybe or just my imagination?

3. Arisa
The outspoken girl. Easy going and easy to be friend with. She will try to have a conversation with you first and once you know her, I'm very sure, you will love her.

4. Risa
Cute little girl but seems nervous whenever she tried to speak english. I do hope she will be more talkative

5. Shoko
Nice but i think she always MIA. She is a president for some kind of volunteer project and i do adore her passion for doing so but as i said, I hope she can be more global that just local.

6. Charleen
No doubt, she is the best. Malaysian girl of course..

7. Mollie
Half Japanese half American. Nice but I think at first, we barely talked to each other and I do think that she doesn't like me. By the way, my first impression was wrong. She totally the best

8.Kris
I love her filipino accent when she speak english. Nice girl but same as Mollie, at first, we barely talked each other

9.Yuri:
Nice but same as Arisa, she seems nervous when she tried to speak english. I do hope in the next future she will be more talkative

10. Yoshie
Love her english accent, mostly when she pronounced the "r". Nice and fashionista

11. Miku
She is nice but she seems lack of confident when speaking in english. Always missing, i think. I have to Photoshop her in the above picture.. hehe.. sorry Miku..

and bonus..
secret snap: Risa and Mizuki promoting their Halo-Halo

[Travelog] Hiroshima Part 2 - HJU

Saturday, 23 March 2013
Ok. Actually, the first day I and all the other participant of Kizuna Group C arrived in Hiroshima, we split into 3 groups in Hiroshima Station which are Hiroshima City University(HCU), Hiroshima University of Economic(HUE) and Hiroshima Jogakuin University(HJU). I was allocated to HJU with other 7 participant including 3 boys (supposedly HJU is a private university for women but for this program, i really don't know why they accepted these 3 boys)

So, for the first, the starting is good in Hiroshima Station because I can see the different  style of culture, people and architectures in front of me but as soon as we took a taxi to our university, it slowly started to be not so good. Why? the only reason is because on the way to HJU, the road is like you are riding the horse at the amusement park, spinning and keep up and down as HJU is on top of the hill.

As soon as we arrived, we are taken to the meeting room to meet the president, Nagao sensei and the staff that will handle us during our stay in HJU. Done with the orientation, then we walk to our house and suddenly we met with some girls, introducing themselves as GSE Girls and then suddenly one of the girl said Malaysia!!! smile smile smile...

[Travelog] Hiroshima Part 1

Wednesday, 20 March 2013
If you ask me, where is the best place in Japan, I would say Hiroshima. Why?
For me, I've spend almost 5 months there and a lot of interesting values that you can discover.

First for Part 1, I will share the amazing city of Hiroshima.

If we look back on 1945, when World War II ended, we will discover what had happened to Hirsohima but if we are here in 2013, I think most of us will not believe that things happened there.

*i'm too lazy to write, will edit soon
